How Lucky Am I
by Katie Jerram Equestrian | 29th October 2025
How lucky am I to have had Jo Jack as my Head Girl for all the years I did and was delighted when she won The Showing World Groom of the Year Award. Jo always said she would move on to run her own yard, when she knew I had someone capable enough to take on the position.
Ellie Greenhalgh started with us before Jo left and took on the role as Head Girl about a year later and has turned out to be the most wonderful loyal person and friend. Ellie, a former winner of the Groom of the Year Award is well deserving of this second nomination.
To have the support of Ellie, and the rest of the team, makes my job so much easier in so many ways. Ellie is not only a very accomplished rider, but she manages the yard, the staff and the rest of the team, vets, farrier, physio, the owners etc. in the most professional manner. She looks after my parents whenever required, ensuring their needs are met, both at home and when away at shows.
Ellie loves all the horses on the yard as equals and treats each and every one of them as if it was her own horse, the hours she puts into their care, the yard and the welfare of the team as a whole, goes above and beyond of what is expected.
I feel so blessed to have had both Jo and Ellie at Collins Farm, both have been great friends and a great support, through both the good and the bad times.

Congratulations Ellie on your nomination for The Showing World Groom of the Year Award, you deserve every bit of this and more, and if you have not Groom of the Year on the night, you will always be my Groom of the Year, you are simply amazing and thank you for everything you have done for us.
